Gary Harron, Chairman

The Canadian Angus Foundation has four main areas of focus. These are research, historical preservation, education and youth development.

In 2010, we completed an inventory of collectible inventory in the Canadian Angus office basement. This included photographs, newspaper clippings, old Angus magazines, old pedigrees, etc., all valuable contributions to Angus history.

Based on professional archival advice, much of the more valuable and fragile material is now stored at the Glenbow Museum in a climate-controlled atmosphere.

In 2005, the Foundation initiated the Robert C. McHaffie Junior Ambassador Program. This has proven most successful. The 2010–2011 Ambassador is Erika Easton, chosen from five well-qualified individuals at the annual meeting held in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Erika will represent us at many Angus functions during her term.

In order to carry out the work of the Foundation, funds are required. Thank you for the generous support of many individuals and farms since the inception of the Foundation in 1993. Please give generously to upcoming fundraising initiatives. Thank you to the Foundation Board of Directors who are all volunteers. They attend the annual meeting each year at their own expense in the interest of furthering the success of the Foundation.
